Netball

The Year 9 Netball Team played Redden Court at home. It was a very evenly matched game and nail biting to the end. We pulled off some amazing interceptions. The Emerson Park girls kept up the pressure until the final whistle. EPA won 6-5. Emily W and Millie L were on fire in the semi circle shooting and rebounding, passing in and out. Poppy D took control of the game in the centre third setting up great passes and defending all the way. Redden Court named Francis C as our 'Dame of the Game'. Although a few girls have been mentioned by name all played absolutely brilliantly and the best they've played in a while. The team spirit was so clear to see. Well done Year 9 Netball team!

The Emerson Year 9 boys had an emphatic 7-0 victory against West Hatch School in the third round of the Essex Cup.  EPA started the game with energy and gusto and were always on top of their opposition all the way to the final whistle.  We witnessed great flair from Reuben M. on the side line. Also the hard work from Tommy A. and William S. fed some outstanding deliveries into the goal area where Bailey B., Max T. and Tobi O. capitalised at goal.  Final score 7-0 to EPA let's hope that they can maintain this form in the quarter finals!Overall, a great team effort and a well deserved, team victory for the boys.

On Monday the Year 9 boys had a 'B' team friendly and beat Hall Mead 'B' 6-2. Cameron P. got two goals and Ben W. got four.

The Year 9's drew 2-2 with Hall Mead in their Havering Cup league match. Hall Mead and Emerson are head to head favourites for the Havering title this year and EPA did well do get a draw with a depleted side. There was another outstanding performance from Jimmy W. In addition Harry S. and William S. stood out on the pitch as well.

On a side note, one of the Year 9 players Finley B. has just been signed by Manchester City, both him and his family are making their way up to Manchester to start a new life next week! We wish them all the very best.

Football

The Year 9 Boys football team won 3-1 last night against Harris Academy Rainham (formerly Chafford) in the Essex Cup. EPA dominated the majority of the match, although Harris did score on their first attack within the first few minutes. Ten minutes before half time Jimmy W. dribbled his way from central defence, through the midfield and chipped the keeper from long range to score a fantastic goal.

Once again the Emerson boys controlled the match despite some tough tackles coming in from the Harris boys. Tobi O. made some cutting runs through the midfield to make key passes. Max T. was constantly cutting out passes to regain possession and set up the next attack for Emerson. With five minutes left to play Lewis B. scored, quickly followed by a tap in from close range by Max T.

 Rugby

Year 7 have made a great start to the season. Mr Higgins has been working hard with this team and they are also trained by Harry Adams from Brentwood RFC who has been keen to get on board and help them progress. We all have high hopes for this team and some strong characters are emerging in the group. We wish them the best of luck for the season.

Year 8 have also made a great start to the season winning all of their league games so far, beating Hall Mead and St. Edwards in their first two games. Some new players have joined the ranks this season adding depth to the squad, which should help should help them retain their title as Havering champions.
